They say that at the heart of every strong community, is a good pub.
Villages and towns across Norfolk are filled with pubs where neighbours gather for a pint or a meal and a good chat, as people continue to enjoy their beloved local boozers.
Here are some of the oldest places to grab a pint in Norwich.
1. The Kings Head
Where: Harts Ln, Bawburgh, NR9 3LS
The picturesque village of Bawburgh is home to the 17th-century freehouse pub, The Kings Head.
They say they are "committed to upholding the fine living philosophy of its namesake – sportsman & bon viveur King Edward VII" and it is a true cosy country pub with locally sourced produce.
2. Feathers Hotel
Where: 6 Market Place, Holt, NR25 6BW
Sat in the high street of the Georgian North Norfolk town of Holt, The Feathers is a pub dating back to the 17th century.
Enjoy the historic bar, large fireplaces and Victorian-inspired decor in the rooms.
3. The Bowling Green Inn
Where: Church St, Wells-next-the-Sea, NR23 1JB
With landlords dating back to around 1673, and it's said that they have been around before that, the Bowling Green Inn, is the oldest pub in Wells.
The family-orientated pub offers a selection of local ales, bed and breakfast, and self-catering accommodation in a "relaxed and comfortable setting".

4. The Rose and Crown
Where: Old Church Road, Snettisham, PE31 7LX
The wonky beams and period features of the award-winning Rose and Crown date back to the 14th century.
"Everything you’d expect from a Norfolk village inn" with twisting passages and log fires.
5. The Ship Inn
Where: 21 Beach Rd, Mundesley, NR11 8BQ
The Ship Inn is thought to date back three centuries and it is loved for its local produce and beach views.
The coastal inn was mentioned in the Telegraph's 50 of the Best British Pubs with Beer Gardens.
