Despite extending their unbeaten run to eight matches, other results mean that Diss Town can no longer be promoted this season.
Sam Bryant took a free-kick quickly, after he was fouled just outside the penalty area wide on the left, in the fourth minute and found Craig Skipp.
He beat a defender and sent a low shot into the far corner of the net for the opening goal. In a one-sided first half many other chances fell to the Tangerines.
However, it was not until the 22nd minute that Brendan Foley sent Jordan Rocastle racing on to a through ball to float the ball over the advancing Matt Walker for the second goal.
In the 39th minute a corner from the left from Stuart Garner was headed on by Foley for Rocastle to turn and shoot in from four yards out.
Luke Catchpole sent a long pass for Rocastle to head past Walker near the edge of the penalty area in the 53rd minute and with both players in a heap on the ground the ball rolled into the net to complete Rocastle's hat-trick.
Rocastle was taken out by the visiting goalkeeper in a collision that meant the quick Diss striker was unable to continue and Walker was shown a yellow card.
Cornard broke quickly in the 78th minute to pull a goal back after Walker made a good save to a header from Dan Wynne.
Jamie Clark hit his shot against Matt Webster's left-hand post and Dan Mansa followed up to put the loose ball into the net.
Diss made it 5-1 in the 83rd minute when Mark Shadrack sent a shot low into the net from the edge of the D 22 yards out after a foul.
The ball found its way into the bottom left-hand corner of the net after clipping the defensive wall and despite Walker getting a hand to the ball.
Two minutes later Cornard pulled another goal back when Sam Holeman sent a fine low shot into the corner of the net from 25 yards out.
A minute from time Phil Kelly for Cornard was sent off for his second yellow card foul.
