A  Norfolk road prone to flooding will close for 16 weeks while a new drainage system is built.

The Street, in Caston, will be closed between its Northacre and Stow Bedon Road junctions from October 2.

The County Council hopes installing a new drainage system will resolve the historic flooding issue around the Duke's Lane junction.

People who live in the road will be allowed access during the works but there may be some unavoidable temporary restrictions.

These will be agreed in advance.

Buses, including school services, will be diverted around the closure.

The work is estimated to cost £142,000.
