A Norfolk road has been left almost impassable after it became flooded when a nearby water pipe burst.

Thieves Road in Attleborough has become completely submerged under water, with Anglian Water engineers on route to fix the problem.

The issue has left a number of homes in the town without water this morning.

A spokesman for Anglian Water said: "We're really sorry but some customers in Attleborough may have very low water pressure.

"This is being caused by a burst main. Due to the location of the burst, we will be attending in the morning to complete the repair.

"We apologise for any inconvenience caused."

Anglian Water are hoping to have the issue fixed by 10am today (October 30).

It comes after dozens of homes in the town were swamped by a deluge of flood water following Storm Babet’s torrential rain – forcing some families to flee their homes.

Homeowners are now calling for an investigation to be launched into a housing development that was built on a floodplain as they claim it contributed to the flooding.
