From a new maize maze for the summer to a viral dessert shop closing - here are five changes happening to businesses in Norfolk in August.
1) Walsingham Farm Shop closes its market stall
The Walsingham Farm Shop stall has been part of Norwich Market since November 2018 but its shutter opened for the last time on Saturday.
The stall was known for serving its award-winning, gravy-laden, hot pies warming the stomachs of visitors around the city.
For people hungry for its pies and treats, the original shop in Little Walsingham will remain open as usual, with the business also looking to increase its online offerings.
2) The Pleasure Boat Inn reopens
The Pleasure Boat Inn at Hickling Staithe was purchased by the Norfolk Wildlife Trust (NWT) in November 2023, along with the adjacent buildings, large car park and associated moorings.
The charity recently revealed that it had leased the pub to Rick and Felicity Malt, who also run The White Horse Inn at Neatishead and The Lion at Thurne.
It reopened to the public on August 2 and punters can now visit daily between midday and 10.30pm.
3) New maize maze at The Pulham Patch
The Pulham Patch in Pulham Market has launched its new maize maze and pick-your-own wildflower field for the summer season.
The new maze takes inspiration from its location, with the neighbouring Tyrrel's Wood part of the Boudicca Way.
It is in the shape of the legendary warrior and it also features two horses and a chariot, with a knowledge activity trail to follow.
The maze will be open daily throughout August before closing on September 3.
4) BellyBoos closing
BellyBoos has shut its site in Lower Goat Lane due to "unforeseen circumstances" after relocating from Chantry Place last October.
Stocking a variety of sweet treats and drinks, the site also offered a range of ice creams and milkshakes inspired by the popular American 'freakshakes'.
The store attracted millions of views on social media for its loaded milkshakes, pancakes and cakes, garnished with sweet toppings.
5) Boutique at No10 closing
The owners of the Boutique at No10 in Attleborough say the shop's last day will be August 16, with business to remain as usual until then.
Mother and daughter team Sarah and Sophie Horan will consolidate their business into their other shop - The Boutique at No83 - in Swaffham while expanding their online presence.
Sarah said the decision to close the shop, which has been trading on Church Street for 12 years, had come after rising running costs and lack of trade meant the business was no longer sustainable.
