A 14-year-old amputee has vowed to take part in a special canoe challenge to help support others.
Hingham teenager, Scarlett Walker, is set to paddle 26 miles for amputee charity Steel Bones.
The teen will be joined by her mum and uncle and will compete in the Sudbury to Sea Marathon on September 7 and 8.
Amongst the participants are several amputees, including two who have recently been through double amputations.
Gary Hawksworth, a Steel Bones trustee and amputee, orchestrated the creation of the challenge.
He wanted to create a chance for amputees to partake in an adventure and generate funds for the charity.

He said: “We are extremely grateful to all who have made this possible especially Sudbury and Colchester Canoe Club and all our incredible challengers.
"It will be a fantastic, arduous adventure which will raise crucial funds to help more people who need crisis support.”
Nearly £6,000 - more than half their £10,000 goal - has been raised.

Commenting on why she is taking part, Scarlett said: “Steel bones is a really great charity that has helped me and many others to navigate life as an amputee.
"It would be amazing to raise some money for them so they can continue the mazing work they do for amputees across the UK.”
Already, she has collected £1,800 and aims to raise a minimum of £2,000 before she sets off in her canoe.
Steel Bones provides a support network to local amputees and their families.
The charity has assembled a team for this event and is being supported by contributions and expert coaching from the canoe club.
The event will also include an overnight camp.
